Arnaut Danjuma scored in the semifinal second leg promotion playoff only for his club Bournemouth to miss out an instant return to the Premier League following a 3-1 defeat at Brentford today.
Brentford thus advanced to the final of the promotion playoffs 3-2 on aggregate.
Lagos-born Danjuma scored the only goal when both teams first clashed at Bournemouth a week ago.
He was again on the scoreboard today when he opened scoring in the fifth minute.
However, the home team fought back to win 3-1.
They now await the overall winners of the second semifinal between Swansea City and Barnsley, who parade Daryl Dike.
Swansea won the first leg 1-0 at Barnsley.
