The Super Eagles hopes of featuring at next year’s World Cup have taken a big body blow after the players rejected a bonus of a Million Naira-a-man for the 2-0 home win over Liberia.
According to www.insideglasshouse.com, the players are demanding for much more for the victory against the Lone Star on Friday in Lagos.
This problem over money has come after a much-advertised meeting with top NFF officials and “senior” players Thursday did not take place.
The meeting was to have agreed on what the team will earn as match bonus for the World Cup qualifiers and also for the players to know when unpaid bonuses will be cleared.
Last month, Rangers defender Leon Balogun opened up that the three-time African champions are owed a backlog of bonuses.
The Eagles will tomorrow take on Cape Verde in continuation of the 2022 World Cup qualifying series.
