Jerome Akor has told SCORENigeria it’s tough going being in mandatory quarantine in Norway on account of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Akor and his teammates and officials at Norwegian club Sogndal are today spending their sixth day in quarantine after they rushed back to Norway from pre-season training in Spain.
“It’s not easy for me because the life of the footballer is fast, you are always on the move and now you have to be in your house for 14 days,” the Flying Eagles striker revealed.
“But we have no option but to complete the two weeks indoors.”
So far, no member of his Norwegian club has tested positive for the disease.
He said anyone who goes against this quarantine order will be liable to a fine of 14,000 Krone (about $1300) or be jailed for three weeks.
In the absence of training and playing football matches, Akor said he now keeps himself busy by reading, being on the telephone with friends and family, watching lots of television and experimenting new dishes in the kitchen.
“This experience can only make us stronger,” he said.
“The whole of the world has to stick together so that we can defeat this enemy.”
