Coach Eric Chelle has said the CHAN Eagles will be gunning for victory against Sudan tomorrow so as to get their 2024 CHAN campaign back on track.
Last week, the CHAN Eagles fell by a late goal to defending champions Senegal in their opening game of the tournament.
Tomorrow they will be up against Sudan, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Congo in their own opening game in Group D.
Kick-off time is 6pm in Nigeria.
“It’s a big game, it’s an important game (vs Sudan), we need to win tomorrow and after that we will see,” Eric Chele said at a pre-match press conference today in Zanzibar.
“To win this game will be very good for the team, it will give us the possibility to go past the group stage.”
The Super Eagles coach also defended the dominance of Remo Stars on the CHAN Eagles squad, citing the likes of Sudan, South Africa and Morocco are also dominated by players from the best clubs in their respective countries.
“Remo Stars are the best team in Nigeria and we try to bring the best players to this tournament,” he explained.
