Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika did not make the big transfer in the summer, but Club Brugge will again be open to cooperate for him to do so in January.
“Club Brugge are expected to cooperate again in January, as they did with Skov Olsen last year,” reported Het Nieuwsblad.
The 24-year-old midfielder has continued to perform and isn’t distracted by the loss of a top transfer.
A stark difference from last year, when he struggled to turn things around after the failed negotiations with Galatasaray.
This time, he stayed focused and immediately delivered strong performances in the Champions League and the Jupiler Pro League.
“An example to everyone in our squad,” said Club Brugge.
His value to the team is therefore immense. The captain agrees, and he recently offered no small amount of praise for the midfielder.
“I’m a huge Rapha fan. You can always pass the ball to him. I’m incredibly happy he stayed, because he’s really important to us,” he said at the time.
Whether Onyedika will actually make the move to a top league in January remains to be seen.
The Africa Cup of Nations later this year could complicate the timing, but there’s no doubt he deserves a step up.
