AC Milan star Rafael Leao has predicted that the new season should be a breakout campaign for Samuel Chukwueze after he struggled previously.
Chukwueze has shone in pre-season under new coach Paulo Fonseca.
He provided two assists in a 4-3 win over Premier League champions Manchester City, before he scored the match winner versus Real Madrid.
Leao has now backed the Super Eagles winger to take Serie A by storm as he will play a bigger role at Milan.
“When you don’t play a lot, it becomes difficult to show what you can do, but Chukwueze has shown increased confidence and a desire to make a difference,” said the Portugal star, who joined Milan five years ago.
“If he continues this way, he’ll have a great season.”
Christian Pulisic played on the on the right side of attack last season, but Leao said he would prefer the USA star in midfield and that will allow Chukwueze to show his stuff on the right flank.
