Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has fully backed the CHAN Eagles to qualify for the 2024 CHAN at the expense of arch-rivals Ghana Saturday in Uyo.
The 2024 CHAN final playoff is delicately poised at 0-0 after the first leg in Accra Sunday.
Eguavoen said he is very much aware of the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana, but at the same time he is confident the CHAN Eagles will get the job done at home to qualify for the 2024 CHAN.
“I am 100% sure that this time around we will turn it around (vs Ghana),” Eguavoen told Kennis FM
“I am absolutely confident we will qualify for the CHAN.
“The boys are raring to go and they will do as they promised.
“We will only pray for luck.”
He said this is a massive chance for NPFL players to break into the Super Eagles.
“This is an opportunity for some of them to break into senior team.
“I’m sure they won’t toy with this big opportunity.”
He said his own oooo .nobi by mouth . .I remember the game I watched in Accra something in the 80s the black star lost at home after the first leg ended 0 0 in Nigeria.
The score was 2 :1 against Ghana on their soil . The stadium was like a burial ground wen eagles scored the first goal and again the second goal .
I can remember the tactics used the break the Black stars defense from the centers of the field.leaving the Nigerian player alone with the keeper almost free from the center circle getting into the box and scoring the goal .
Then second goal too came with a cross that was effectively brought down to be tapped in using the hind leg of someone that didn’t interfer with play that was how beautiful eagles were in those days with local players.
Now wat do we have . Struggle through games .
Playing for 90 mins no goal to show
Players making haircut to be noticed by oyinbo
Players using phone in training receiving online tag .
Ghana wil even come score first before we starts praying for luck to score back in the game.
Our coaches are not practice goal scoring techniques .
Psychology of scoring goals .
Plannatology of goal scoring.
