Officials have informed SCORENigeria that a four-nation tournament involving the CHAN Eagles to be hosted by DR Congo this week may have been called off.
Initial reports were that the CHAN Eagles under coach Paul Aigbogun have already flown out to Kinshasa.
However, further checks showed the squad are still very much in Abuja while waiting for a final word from the organisers.
SCORENigeria was further told that this competition was earlier scheduled to be played at the beginning of last month, before the NFF were later informed it will now be played this week.
“We have to wait what the organisers tell us when offices open for the week tomorrow,” a top team official told SCORENigeria
“The information will get will decide our next move.
“Whatever be the case, the boys have had good training for at least a week and that can only serve them in good stead.”
The CHAN Eagles were to have begun preparation for the qualifying tournament for the next CHAN in earnest with this tournament after they squared up against Mexico in the USA in July.
