Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has said newly-crowned NPFL champions Enugu Rangers will hope to win more domestic and international laurels.
Rangers clinched their eighth NPFL title by topping the table with 70 points from 38 matches.
‘The Flying Antelopes’ will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League on account of this feat.
“This is a great day for all of us in Rangers and we give God the glory,” an elated Ilechukwu said as he tightly clutched the giant NPFL trophy in Jos.
“This is a victory for the government and people of Enugu State who supported us through thick and thin till we got to where we are today as champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
“We hope to get a few legs to add to this team to challenge for both domestic and continental honors next season effectively.”
Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah watched Rangers beat Gombe United 2-1 at the New Jos Stadium to win the championship in style.
The team were Sunday night hosted to a victory dinner by sponsors Afrivest West Africa top executive Prince Ike Chioke.
They will embark on a trophy parade later Monday in Enugu.
