Modest Belgian team Cercle Brugge will pay five million Euros to sign Chelsea loanee Ike Ugbo permanently at season’s end.
Cercle Brugge have been boosted by their affiliation with French Ligue 1 millionaires AS Monaco and could now trigger the buy-out clause for Ugbo, which has been put at five million Euros, according to HLN.
The 22-year-old striker has scored 13 goals and provided an assist in 31 appearances for Cercle Brugge.
His goals will help the club to stay put in the Belgian top flight after a difficult start to the campaign.
Ugbo, who has represented England at age-group levels but could also feature for Nigeria, has no future at Chelsea and his contract with ‘The Blues’ will run out mid-2022.
His transfer market value has been put at 2.5 million Euros.
