Aladalah Club are banking on the experience of John Ogu to help them escape relegation from the top flight in Saudi Arabia.
The 31-year-old Ogu joined Aladalah as a free agent after he cancelled his contract with long-time Israeli team Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
The Saudi club are featuring in only their first season in the top league and are second from bottom of the table after 14 rounds of matches with a mere nine points and six points from safety.
They recorded eight of their points at home and only a point on their travels to underline a dismal run on the road.
Ogu’s new club resumed the league season Friday with a 1-1 home draw with Al-Feiha.
On Friday, they face a most daunting task against champions Al Nassr and Ogu’s compatriot Ahmed Musa in the quarterfinal of the prestigious Kings Cup.
