Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey will miss Saturday’s 2025 AFCON third-place match against Egypt.
This was after he picked up his second booking in the knockout rounds of the competition against Morocco Wednesday night.
Bassey was also booked in the quarterfinal against Algeria.
On Wednesday night, the Fulham central defender was outstanding as the Super Eagles held out against the host nation until they lost out 4-2 in a penalty shootout to decide the team to march on to the Sunday’s final against Senegal.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and Frank Onyeka were the other Super Eagles who risked suspension leading up to the Morocco match.
