Ajax coach has said Calvin Bassey will make his debut for his new club tomorrow against PSV after his work permit finally came through.
Bassey, 22, has signed a long-term contract with Ajax after his record transfer from Scottish giants Rangers.
He started training with the Dutch champions last week, but missed the team’s last pre-season game against Shakhtar Donetsk because of paperwork.
“Yes he will be included in the selection,” confirmed Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder.
Ajax will battle cup winners PSV for the Johan Cruyff Shield, the equivalent of the Community Shield in England, which will usher in the new season in Holland.
In the meantime, Ajax skipper Dusan Tadic has described Super Eagles defender Bassey as a “beast” on account of the robust power he has displayed in training.
