The tournament was originally scheduled to kick off on March 17 and end on April 3 in Morocco.
CAF in an official statement announced that the competition will now be played between July 25 to August 16, 2026.
The statement said the shift in dates was caused by “certain unforseen circumstances”, while being silent on the country to host the tournament.
This year’s WAFCON will serve as qualifying tournament for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
