The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have approved for 5,000 fans to watch next month’s 2022 World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and Liberia at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
The NFF had asked for 12,000 fans to be at the match venue.
In March, the Eagles played in front of a limited number of fans at the same venue when they beat Lesotho to complete their 2-21 AFCON qualifying campaign on a winning note.
The match will be played on September 3 with kick-off time put at 5pm.
The Super Eagles are expected to line up their strongest team against the Lone Star of Liberia as Nigeria is not on the UK Red List for Coronavirus protocol and as such Premier League clubs are not expected to hold back their players for this game.
However, the Premier League players have been ordered not to honour a September 7 in Cape Verde, which is on the UK Red List of countries not considered safe as regards the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Any person who visits a red-listed country will on return to England have to quarantine for at least 10 days before he returns to normal life.
