Brighton have left out youngster Zadok Yohanna from their first-team matchday squad duties to give him enough time to adapt to the Premier League.
He is instead building his strength and fitness on the training ground.
Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler said: “He had a small issue, and I always say that players need to have time to adapt to the Premier League, and he’s an example of this.
“It’s a different intensity and different demands, so we have to be very careful with him.”
Zadok has come off the bench in pre-season, against Aston Villa in the Premier League as well as in the UEFA Conference League against Tromso.
