The delayed 2024 CHAN has again been postponed until August, CAF announced today.
The tournament was due to be staged by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania next month.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe said “good progress” has been made by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to upgrade and renovate their facilities and infrastructure for the staging of a successful CHAN.
However, much work needed to still be done to reach the required CAF standard for a successful hosting of the championship.
On Wednesday, the draw for the CHAN will be conducted in Nairobi, Kenya.
Nigeria qualified for the tournament after a six-year absence when they eliminated arch-rivals Ghana 3-1 on aggregate in a final playoff.
They are not seeded at the draw and saw face a tough first round group.
