Premier League club AFC Bournemouth have said they are excited to have signed “outstanding” Arnaut Danjuma from Club Brugge.
Bournemouth today completed the signing of the Nigeria-born Dutch international winger subject to international clearance.
Bournemouth chief executive, Neill Blake, described Danjuma as an outstanding player.
“Arnaut is another outstanding addition to our squad and I’m delighted that he is an AFC Bournemouth player,” he told the club’s website.
“This is someone we have been tracking for a number of years, who has all the attributes to become a key player for this team.
“Football is about entertainment and, as a technical, attack-minded player, I’m confident Arnaut will excite our fans and they will enjoy watching him.”
The 22-year-old arrived from Belgium for an undisclosed fee which should between 16 million Euros and 20 million Euros, putting pen to paper on a long-term contract at Vitality Stadium.
Danjuma rose through the youth system at PSV Eindhoven before joining NEC Nijmegen in the summer of 2016, where he impressed in the second tier in Holland.
He said he is delighted with the chance to play in the Premier League.
“Coming to AFC Bournemouth is a really good step up for me,” Danjuma told afcbTV.
“The Premier League is a great place to play your football, especially at a club like this.
“I’m excited to be here. The last 24 hours have been a bit crazy, but I’m delighted to be at the club and I’ve only heard positive things about it.
“I think the way the team plays suits my style, I like to attack and I cannot wait to get started.”
He added: “I am very excited, proud and most of all happy to make my next step with Bournemouth.
“I cannot wait to step on the field and represent them to my fullest abilities, together the sky is the limit.”
