There may be grumblings in the camp of the Flying Eagles over match bonuses and allowances, but officials have insisted that the players are only pre-occupied with beating fellow West Africans Senegal tomorrow to qualify for the last-eight of the U20 World Cup.
Kick-off at Lodz will be 7.30pm tomorrow.
The Nigeria U20s have not received any bonus or camp allowances despite reaching the knockout rounds of the World Cup in Poland.
“If they lose 10-0 to Senegal, I will not blame the team, but I will blame the NFF,” a source close to the team informed SCORENigeria
“I don’t know how a team who have been in camp for 21 days in Germany and nine days in Poland, have gone without a dime and are still expected to perform wonders.
“They cannot continue to keep quiet inside a drowning boat.”
SCORENigeria learnt that the players who were dropped in Germany were sent off with only $100 each and their flight tickets.
“The only thing on the players’ mind is the game against Senegal,” maintained team spokesman Andrew Randa.
The Flying Eagles have been affected by the policy of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not to pay age-group teams bonuses because of the poor finances of the federation.
