Benin can now bank on their best players in France for this Saturday’s decisive AFCON qualifier against the Super Eagles after the government exempted them from a mandatory seven-day quarantine on return from Africa.
Benin were in danger of missing as many as seven players including Jodel Dossu and Steve Mounie from the AFCON qualifier on Saturday in Porto-Novo.
But the French government has now exempted these call-ups from the mandatory quarantine as long as they adhere to strict Covid protocol.
Benin will qualify for the AFCON to be staged in Cameroon next year with a win over group leaders Super Eagles at the weekend.
They lost the reverse tie 2-1 in Nigeria in 2019.
They have seven points from four matches, a point behind Nigeria.
