Belgian club KV Mechelen have said newly signed striker Adeshina Ayodele will bring more fire power to their attack in the new season.
KV Mechelen signed Ayodele, 20, on a contract until 2029 with an option for a further year.
Technical Director Tom Caluwé mentioned speed and depth as the newcomer’s key qualities.
“Adeshina Ayodele is someone with speed and depth,” said Caluwé. “Due to his strong physical profile, he should provide extra competition in the attacking line.”
Ayodele joined from Lille B, where he had been since 2024.
Lille signed Ayodele from the Beyond Limits Football Academy in Nigeria at the time.
Prior to that, the attacker went through the youth academy of Remo Stars, among others.
Ayodele impressed in France with Lille’s reserves. In 54 matches, the Nigerian scored 22 goals and provided eight assists.
He also made his mark on the European stage: he featured six times in the UEFA Youth League and managed to score twice.
