Taiwo Awoniyi will team up with fellow Super Eagles star Frank Onyeka at Premier League new boys Coventry City.
According to Top Transfer Expert Fabrizio Romano, Coventry City have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the permanent transfer of Awoniyi, a 29-year-old who will become a new centre-forward for the team managed by Frank Lampard.
The deal between the two clubs worth 17 million milion pounds is finalised, and the Nigerian international is currently undergoing his medical examination.
Awoniyi, who was under contract with Nottingham Forest until June 30, 2027, earns an annual salary of €2,992,948.
The transfer is expected to be officially announced shortly, if there are no issues with the medical.
Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest in July 2022 and has 10 caps and two goals for Nigeria.
His current market value is €8.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
