Taiwo Awoniyi scored his fifth goal and provided an assist as Union Berlin won 2-0 at Werder Bremen in continuation of the Bundesliga.
The 23-year-old Awoniyi scored his first goal of 2021 after 28 minutes and that was after he had assisted for the opening goal in the 12th minute.
This is already the Liverpool loanee’s most prolific time in the Bundesliga after he could only manage a league goal last season at Mainz 05.
Union Berlin have thus shot provisionally to fourth place on the table with 24 points from 14 matches.
