Taiwo Awoniyi has wasted little time in opening his goals’ account on the opening day of the Bundesliga, while Chukwubuike Junior Adamu was the match winner for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.
Awoniyi, who has now made a permanent switch to Union Berlin from Liverpool, opened scoring as early as the seventh minute against Bayer Leverkusen.
The visitors restored parity soon after to split the points.
Last season, Awoniyi netted five goals in the Bundesliga last season.
In the Austrian Bundesliga, it was Chubuikem Adamu Junior, who snatched an 80th minute winner at Admira.
It was his first goal of the season.
Adamu Junior has previously sent out on loan by Salzburg.
His team remain top of the table with 12 points from four matches.
