Turkey-based defender Chidozie Awaziem has returned to training with the Super Eagles a week after he disappeared from public glare.
The former FC Porto ace was lively and full of energy on his return Monday.
He has not been involved in the first two Group D matches against Egypt and Sudan.
For several days there was no official statement on his absence before coach Augustine Eguavoen said he was nursing an ankle injury when he was eventually confronted with the question of the player’s whereabouts.
Super Eagles spokesman Babatunde Raji told an Abuja radio station monitored by SCORENigeria that the player was “under the weather”.
It is clear Awaziem failed the mandatory Covid-19 test, but he has now tested negative.
