Atalanta have been congratulating themselves for paying a bargain 12 Million Euros to sign Ademola Lookman as the Super Eagles forward has gone on to emerge as the biggest revelation in the Italian Serie A this season.
Lookman, 25, has so far netted 11 goals and provided three assists in Serie A.
He has also grabbed two goals in the Coppa Italia and Atalanta are through to the quarterfinal.
Only the numbers of compatriot Victor Osimhen are better than his.
And now the Atalanta coach, Gian Gasperini, has revealed how they signed the sensational forward.
He said the new Atalanta sports director was at Leicester City when Lookman was also there on loan and so he knew first-hand what they were buying.
“This new director, who is the responsible for scouting, Lee Congerton, spotted the player, he knew him [Lookman] because they were together at Leicester City,” Gasperini revealed.
