Alex Iwobi has backed his former club Arsenal to bounce back to top reckoning in the Premier League title race after a wretched run of results during the festive period.
Iwobi featured for Fulham to win a London Derby against Arsenal at the weekend.
This was after the London Gunners had also lost a previous Premier League game to another London club West Ham.
“Of course, I didn’t want them to win against us,” Iwobi said after Fulham 2-1 win over his childhood club.
“But they can now kick on and fight for the league.
“They have the players and the quality to win the Premier League.”
Arsenal would have returned to the summit of the Premier League had they won at Fulham.
They have now dropped to fourth in the standings on 40 points from 20 matches, five points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
