Tolu Arokodare reached a milestone of 10 goals this season, but he was still left unhappy that Genk did not get maximum points against Cercle Brugge.
Arokodare gave Genk the lead at home against Cercle Brugge only for the visitors to fight back and draw the Belgian Championship Playoffs game 1-1.
“We deserved more than that one point,” the striker told Het Belang van Limburg.
“If you concede a goal like that, it’s really painful and a shame. Anyway, there’s no point in pointing the finger at anyone now. That’s football, those mistakes always happen.”
He was also unhappy with the robust style of Cercle Brugge.
“Cercle are a very physical team, but I like that. Although they started making more and more faults in the second half, while the referee didn’t take note. Fortunately, he did that that one time (referring to a red card for Popovic).”
Genk are fourth in the standings after three rounds in the playoffs with 31 points, seven points adrift of leaders Anderlecht.
