Tolu Arokodare will most likely have to play today for Genk wearing a protective helmet after he suffered a head injury.
Last Sunday, the tall striker suffered the head injury against Gent and even had to be stretchered off.
On Friday, Arokodare resumed training with his Belgian club.
“But he still avoided any contact,” coach Wouter Vrancken told Het Belang van Limburg.
“Only if he succeeds and he experiences no reaction afterwards, can he possibly make it to the match against KAS Eupen. That is still a matter of looking at it at the moment.”
Wouter Vrancken and KRC Genk are even considering a special option to let Arokodare play with a helmet if that will make him feel better.
“We would of course like to try that option. It is crucial that he feels completely free. Because heading is a crucial part of Tolu’s game. It’s like asking (Yira) Sor and (John) Paintsil to play a match without sprinting,” he said.
The striker has been listed by Genk on the match day squad for today’s clash.
