Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has fired a salvo at Anderlecht ahead of a crucial Belgian Championship Playoffs clash involving both teams.
Arokodare was set to sign for Anderlecht before Genk hijacked the transfer.
Anderlecht fans send him hate messages and will likely boo him in today’s game.
“That’s right. I don’t care. I wish them the best, just like I always wish everyone the best. I just made a choice and they have to make peace with it,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws.
“I had an option and – sorry – I saw a better one in Genk. Everyone would have done the same.
“Moreover: if Anderlecht had wanted me so badly, they would not have waited until deadline day. Live with it and move on. They have with Dolberg Now also a scoring striker? They will definitely boo me again when we play at Anderlecht.”
He also recalled that Vincent Kompany wanted to sign him for Anderlecht when he was still playing in Latvia.
“He wanted to bring me to Anderlecht a few years ago. When I was still playing in Latvia, I spoke to him,” he revealed.
