Joe Aribo shone today as he got his Christmas wish with his first goal of the season for Southampton.
The joy in me seeing Joe Aribo score! Has started 5 of the last 5. Playing further forward & changing the dynamic of Southampton’s attack. 🚀

Many saints fans wrote him off and were prepared to bin him.
Let your apologies be as loud as your disrespect! ‼️🤝🏾 pic.twitter.com/tP4mHIfWnA
Southampton trounced Swansea 5-0 in a Boxing Day match-up with midfielder Aribo among the goals as well as hitting form in time for the AFCON with the Super Eagles.
Aribo got ‘The Saints’ rolling with the opening goal after 17 minutes.
It was a smart finish as he turned sharply before he fired a left-footed low shot home from inside the box.
His overall play caught the eye to take some of his critics off his back.
Southampton have now climbed to third in the standings of the English Championship with 48 points from 24 matches.
They are 10 points behind leaders Leicester City.
