Antwerp coach Brian Priske has confirmed that new signing Alhassan Yusuf is set to make his much-awaited debut Sunday at Standard Liege.
Yusuf has been held back by a work permit, but that has now been sorted out.
“Now he can finally be part of the team and that’s a good thing,” the Antwerp coach said ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
“He plays his position in a different way than Louis Verstraete and Alexis de Sart, so that gives us more options.
“Of course I have already tried to integrate him into the team in training.”
The former IFK Goteborg star will play as a box-to-box midfielder, fetching and carrying from his box to that of the opponents.
Antwerp have lost their first two games of the new season and the coach has made it clear they will be gunning for a win at Standard.
