Super Eagles new boy Cyriel Kolawole Dessers will be a quality addition to the attack of the national team after he was handed his long-awaited call-up by coach Gernot Rohr.
Dessers is the leading scorer in the Dutch league this season with 15 goals and five assists for modest club Heracles Almelo.
Experts say that it will not be long before he makes the move to a bigger club with Dutch giants Ajax often linked with him.
So, what is he therefore bringing to an already crowded Eagles attack line – Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho and Emmanuel Dennis?
- He is a quick, skillful striker
- His main asset is his link-up play as he works for the team both in and outside the box
- He is very mobile, which makes him a modern-day striker
- He is good at setpieces and has proved to finish off chances without much fuss
- At only 25, his best years are still ahead of him and that means he could play for many years for Nigeria
- He is armed with a good shot
Nigeria can therefore be celebrating why he chose to fly with the Super Eagles and not wait for his chance to do damage with the Red Devils of Belgium.
