Alhassan Yusuf has told SCORENigeria it was great for him to score his first goal for Antwerp in a top league clash against bitter rivals Anderlecht.
The energetic midfielder opened scoring for home team halfway through the second half to set Antwerp on the way to a big win at the weekend.
Alhassan kept his nerves inside the six-yard box to help on a short cross from the left to set his club on the road to victory.
“It was a great feeling to score my first goal especially in a big game like that against Anderlecht,” Yusuf told SCORENigeria
The goal by the former IFK Goteborg of Sweden star has come soon after he recovered from a groin injury that sidelined him for about a month.
Overall, he posted a solid performance – 60 touches, 49 accurate passes for 91% pass accuracy, 2 key passes, 4 out of 6 ground duels won, 2 interceptions, 2 tackles, 1 block on goal.
Antwerp are now second on the league table and just four points behind surprise leaders Union, who are back to the Belgian top league after many years in the lower division.
