Alhassan Yusuf will now have to fight to reclaim his first-team place at Antwerp after he was sidelined by injury for the past three months.

The midfielder has been named by the Belgian club on their matchday squad for tomorrow’s league game at home against Charleroi after he last featured for them in December.

The midfielder has been sidelined by an ankle injury that lasted for far longer than expected.

In his absence, youngster Arthur Vermeeren has shone in his position so much so that coach Van Bommel will now have to decide who starts tomorrow between the two players.

The 22-year-old Alhassan was the absolute star for Antwerp before his injury as they racked up nine straight wins in the league.

The Nigerian midfielder is in line to be named Player of the Season by his club on the strength of this performance earlier on in the campaign

Antwerp are third on the table with 60 points from 29 matches, eight points behind leaders Genk and two points behind Union St.Gilloise.
