Alhassan Yusuf tonight won his first major trophy in Europe after IFK Goteborg pipped Malmo 2-1 after extra time in the Sweden Cup Final.
The cup triumph thus qualifies IFK for next season’s UEFA Europa League.
Malmo led 1-0 by half time, before IFK drew level after the break to take the game into extra time.
Transfer-target Yusuf, 19, played the entire final, while compatriot Innocent Bonke saw action for 85 minutes for Malmo.
Last season, Yusuf, who is simply known as ‘Hasse’ in Sweden, was named the country’s Young Player of the Year after superlative displays in his first full season.
