Antwerp midfielder Alhassan Yusuf has said he is excited to get his first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles.
Yusuf, 21, has been named on a 30-man squad for friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador preparatory for 2023 AFCON qualifiers next month.
He is one of nine uncapped players invited and he is widely expected to provide the much-needed creativity and energy in the Super Eagles midfield.
“I am very happy and very excited because this is a dream come true to represent my country,” the former FC Hearts star said.
The immediate concern for Alhassan though is the Belgian championship playoffs.
His club are bottom of the championship playoffs after four rounds of matches.
