Chuba Akpom has said he wishes to go out on loan from Ajax because he is not been played as a striker by the Dutch giants.
According to Foot Mercato, Akpom is looking for a club where he can really play as a striker.
At Ajax, he is currently often used as an attacking midfielder or as a left winger, since Brian Brobbey and Wout Weghorst often play as strikers at the Amsterdam club.
Akpom, who has pledged his international allegiance to the Super Eagles, would like to play as a striker again and is therefore aiming for a loan period.
Akpom is linked to a number of clubs by Foot Mercato. RC Lens, the club that almost signed him in 2023, would be a good destination for him and Rennes, Nice, Nantes, Saint-Etienne and Lille are also mentioned.
In England, Nottingham Forest were already concrete and they are now also mentioned as a possible destination.
Akpom played in 27 Ajax matches this season. In those matches he scored seven goals and gave an assist.
The 29-year-old forward was signed from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2023 for 12.3 million. Akpom still has a contract until mid-2028.
