Jerome Akor has told SCORENigeria he is hugely relieved after he completed a mandatory 14-day quarantine along with teammates and officials of Norwegian club Sogndal.
Flying Eagles striker Akor and his team were forced to go into quarantine on their forced return from pre-season training camp in Spain, which has been ravaged by the Coronavirus.
Those who flouted the quarantine would be liable to hefty fines and even jail time.
“It was really great that I can now step out of my house after completing the quarantine,” an excited Akor celebrated.
“It was tough when it lasted, like I was in jail for the past two weeks.
“I went around the shops once my quarantine was called off.”
He was also thrilled that no member of his team has so far come down with the disease.
Team training for Sogndal has now been scheduled for tomorrow with players drawn into groups of four, five.
“I am looking forward to this,” he told SCORENigeria
“And hoping that before long the new season could begin.
“We miss football, but first thing is we all have to be safe.”
Akor, 20, has two years to run of his contract at Sogndal.
