Akeem Latifu has told www.scorenigeria.com.ng that he will be glad to win his second Norwegian Cup after his side Mjøndalen booked a place in the quarterfinals of this year’s cupcompetition with a 3-0 win over Kongsvinger.
The 29-year-old Iwoland indigene, who won Norwegian cup in 2012 with Hodd, said a repeat of that will be great for him and his club.
“I have won the cup once and the memory was a sweet one. We are in the quarterfinals now and we will take it a game after the other, nothing is won yet but we are getting closer to the cup,” he told SCORENigeria
“I will be so happy if I won it again. We will keep working hard.”
They will now face Haugesund in the quarterfinals in September.
He has played for Ocean Boys, Bayelsa United (both in Nigeria), Alanyaspor (Turkey), Zira (Azerbaijan), Budapest Honved (Hungary), Stal Dniprodzerzhynsk (Ukraine), Hodd, Aalesund, Stromsgodset and Sogndal (all in Norway).
He has represented Nigeria at FIFA U20 World Cup and has two full international caps for the country.
