Ajax coach has dispelled fears Calvin Bassey could miss Tuesday’s tantalising UEFA Champions League clash at Liverpool after he suffered a knock in a 5-0 win over Heerenveen today.
Bassey was in so much pain late in the big league win at home after his main left foot was hit.
“Calvin Bassey is doing okay. It was just a knock. Nothing bad,” assured Alfred Schreuder after the game.
The Super Eagles defender made his Champions League debut in midweek in a 4-0 thrashing of his former club Rangers.
He and Ajax face a sterner test against Liverpool, who are still smarting from a 4-1 loss at Napoli.
