AIK Solna will not extend their contract with former Super Eagles forward Chinedu Obasi after his third spell with the Swedish club.
The 33-year-old Obasi is therefore a free agent and now training with former club Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga.
His representative Henry Isaac said the player has done well thus far and he is hopeful he could earn a move.
“He is really motivated. He wants to play football for several more years. I can tell during his time here received a special coach from Hoffenheim and gained access to Hoffenheim’s training center,” Isaac said.
“They (the club) are impressed, but there is no bid yet.
“Right now, the most important thing for him is to keep fit and be prepared until the league starts again. Then we can see if it is Hoffenheim or any other club that will be interested, but he can still play in the Bundesliga.”
Obasi, who featured at the 2010 World Cup, previously played also for another Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
