Ahmed Musa has said he hopes to help new Turkish club Fatih Karagumruk achieve their ambitions.
The Super Eagles captain has signed a year’s deal with the Istanbul side with option for an additional year.
Karagumruk have yet to win a major trophy and have only spent two years in the Turkish top flight, but they underlined their ambition to be a team to be reckoned with by signing World Cup star Ahmed Musa.
“I was very impressed with the team’s philosophy, style of play and it’s clearly an ambitious club,” Ahmed Musa told BBC Sport Africa.
“I feel wanted and that’s what made all the difference. I want to repay that faith. I can’t wait to link up with my team mates and help the club achieve their ambitions.”
The free agent received “good offers” from other Turkish clubs, but chose Karagumruk, according to his agent Tony Harris.
“There were interest and good offers from other Turkish clubs, but Karagumruk have an impressive philosophy and very professional approach to it,” Harris said.
“Everything being considered, Karagumruk have a befitting playing style and I believe Musa will be very successful at the club.”
