Ahmed Musa is now the all-time most capped Nigeria international after he won his 102nd cap with the Super Eagles against Liberia in Morocco.
He has thus eclipsed goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Joseph Yobo (101 caps).
Ahmed Musa, 28, came off the bench to replace Kelechi Iheanacho three minutes from time in Tangeir Saturday.
The Turkey-based forward will crown this milestone by snatching Nigeria’s second goal from the penalty spot after Victor Osimhen was wrestled down by the Liberia goalkeeper on his way to goal.
Ahmed Musa’s long road to glory began on August 5, 2010, when he made his full international debut against Madagascar in a 2012 AFCON qualifier.
He was a late sub for Mikel Obi.
The 2013 AFCON champion has since featured at two World Cups, in 2014 and 2018.
He also holds the record of the Nigeria star with the most goals in the World Cup – four.
