Nice and Hamburg have now reached an agreement for the transfer of Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi.
Nice-Matin reported that Nice have now accepted an offer from Hamburg for the 27-year-old Moffi.
However, the amount of the offer was not disclosed.
The French Ligue 1 club wanted to save on the salary of the striker, whose contract runs until 2027, so that they could pursue the signing of another strikerElye Wahi, who has been a priority transfer target.
Moffi will now have to agree personal terms with Hamburg, who have been tracking him for several weeks.
Ineos, the owners of Nice, had hoped to sell him for a high price, close to the option negotiated with FC Porto this winter (€8 million), where the player had been on loan for six months, but has now agreed to a lower price.
Moffi has been training diligently since the start of the summer and his return from loan, which has greatly pleased the new coach, Olivier Pantaloni, and his staff.
However, the former Lorient player has never been able to participate in the club’s preseason matches, even though it was considered.
Signed at a time when Ineos was investing heavily in the transfer market, Moffi is expected to soon leave the club for which he has scored 24 goals in 72 official matches.
