Even though he was far from his best against hosts Morocco Wednesday night, Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has maintained his leadership in the race for the MVP of the 2025 AFCON.
Ademola Lookman has an overall rating of 8.02 points to lead the rankings ahead of Mo Salah of Egypt (7.80 points) and Ahmad Diallo of Cote d’Ivoire, whose rating is 7.68 points.
The Atalanta star was scored a disappointing 6.3 points, same as midfielder Raphael Onyedika, who replaced the suspended Wilfred Ndidi, in Wednesday’s semifinal versus Morocco.
He was part of a blunt Super Eagles strike force that could not go past the organised Moroccan defence.
Failure for Nigeria to play in a second straight AFCON final could now have dealt a huge body blow to his chances of succeeding fellow Super Eagles star William Ekong as the MVP of the AFCON.
