Kelechi Iheanacho did not make the Leicester City match day squad at home today against Huddersfield Town to heighten speculations he could miss the AFCON due to injury.
Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca had reported Iheanacho was not available for the team’s win at Cardiff City at the weekend due to a muscular interview.
He also said they were trying to determine the extent of the injury.
Iheanacho has been named by the Super Eagles on a final 25-man squad for the 2023 AFCON, which kicks off on January 13 in Cote d’Ivoire.

The team is left with 23 fit players while CAF allowed 27 but NFF in it’s lackadaisical manner opted for 25 players in order to pocket the 2 players allowances.
