Ademola Lookman has said he is enjoying his football in Italy and hopes his club Atalanta sustain the momentum which has seen them go top of Serie A.
Lookman, 25 on Thursday, has so far scored four goals and provided three assists and his club are the provisional leaders in Serie A pending Napoli game against Bologna later Sunday.
Atalanta are top of the table on 24 points, their best-ever start to a Serie A campaign.
“It was another tough match against another tough opponent, we’re glad to get the three points. The boys dug in deep and it was a resilient performance,” Lookman told Sky Sport Italia after he netted his fourth goal against Sassuolo.
Can Atalanta be champions?
“Obviously that’s a long way away. Like I said before, we take it game by game, we’ve been doing that and getting results. We’re just happy to be top of the table for now and then we’ll see how time goes,” answered the Super Eagles forward, who has previously played in Germany and England.
Lookman said he hopes his best-ever start goes on.
“I am very happy to be here, I feel very settled in the squad and the city. I am enjoying my football. Long may it continue!” he said.
