Officials have told SCORENigeria that AC Milan youngster Victor Eletu will join the Flying Eagles for the U20 World Cup in Argentina today.
“He will arrive today,” Flying Eagles spokesman Sharif Abdallah told SCORENigeria
Eletu has been granted his entry visa to Argentina in Milan after club engagements stopped him from joining the squad in Abuja.
The highly-rated defensive or central midfielder will arrive in time for next week’s World Cup warm-up clash against fellow qualifiers Colombia in Buenos Aires.
His presence is expected to shore up a midfield that lacked creativity at the recent U20 AFCON in Egypt, where the Flying Eagles placed third.
The Flying Eagles open their World Cup campaign on Sunday, May 21, against the Dominican Republic in Mendoza.
Five-time champions Brazil and Italy are also drawn in the same Group D.
