Samuel Kalu is now a major injury doubt for the Super Eagles after he was forced out of today’s French Ligue 1 game at Dijon.
Kalu, who has been called up by Gernot Rohr, was replaced by Bordeaux after just 16 minutes of action.
Bordeaux coach Jean-Louis Gasset reported that the player has a problem around his thigh.
The extent of the injury has yet to be ascertained to know whether he will be available for AFCON clashes against Benin (March 27) and Lesotho (March 30).
It would be recalled that he endured a long time on the sidelines after he was injured in Super Eagles friendly against Algeria in October in Austria.
He was also out of action after he contacted Coronavirus and had to be quarantined for several weeks.
